This Seminar is for Tech Entrepreneurs leading a growing business faced with the decision to either keep going or to consider an exit. Our speakers will explore the pro’s and con’s of each path, drawing heavily on their own experiences as well as citing the latest trends , together with touching upon do’s and don’ts of either avenue.

Steve Garnett has had one of the most distinguished careers of any European executive in the software industry. He has been a member of the executive management team of software startups Oracle, Siebel and Salesforce that each turned into some of the most successful software companies in history.

Steve was Chairman and lead investor in Fairsail, a cloud software HCM company, which was sold to the Sage Group in March 2017. He now manages his own portfolio of investments in a variety of high growth software and service companies.


Sean Hoban has over 20 years experience in IT Consultancy, working for Oracle and LogicaCMG as well as start-up consultancies.

Along with Mark Robinson and David Scott, Sean co-founded Kimble in 2010, and he now has the role of Kimble CEO. Kimble has grown in 7 years, from merely an idea and business plan, to an international business supporting over 40,000 users in over 10 countries.


Tola Sargeant has been a Director at influential UK IT analyst firm TechMarketView since 2009, and took on the role of Managing Director in May 2017. An analyst at heart, Tola has responsibility for TechMarketView’s strategic direction, overseeing Client Services and Sales and Marketing activity, as well as TechMarketView’s groundbreaking research and analysis.



Paddy MccGwire is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Silverpeak, the technology sector focused independent investment bank providing advice on Exits and larger financing transactions across Europe. He has extensive experience of creating value and an outstanding track record of successful deal making over 30 years.



The session will be chaired by John O’Connell who founded, floated and sold for $200+ million Staffware plc, one of the UK’s most successful software companies and he has subsequently invested in and chaired 10+ software companies.
